Memphian Theatre

Elvis often rented the old Memphian Theatre, now the site of Playhouse on the Square, for private screenings of movies.

    It’s a shame that he had to do this, but the lifestyle he was forced to live by Col. Tom Parker forced him to be a recluse. I strongly feel it was this lifestyle that led to his early death.

    I shared a lot of great memories with Elvis in the Memphian Theater. I lived my life there starting in 1962 and I would not change a thing. The Memphian Theater is near and dear to my heart.

    i was lucky enough to be able to go too the memphian theater once and elvis was is attence and it waas a wonderferul experience. something i cherish and will always remember. elvis is a great person. sue barnhart
